At the last meeting, during the "Good of the League", Dist. Vice Commandant: Tom Newton – Introduced the Marine for Life Program. It is a program that has been rejuvenated and around since the mid 1980s. This program assists Marines who have been discharged from the service. helping them transition from the Corps back into the civilian world. The Marine for Life offers Marines and family members, connections to military-friendly employment, resume writing, education, and other Veteran and community resources, i.e. MCL. The MCL has also been involved with the classes. Tom’s Det in Albany, GA was involved in the classes and had 2 new members join the Det, and they helped 6 Marines and 2 Navy corpsmen relocate to CA, NV and WA. If you are interested there is a course for M4L Reps. For more information about Marine4Life go to www.m4l.usmc.mil.
